That's a wrap for @noodleuvet 2020. @drmarygardner and I have always wanted to create a "different kind" of in-person conference one day. When 2020 bought us challenges, we aimed to pivot our idea and provide solutions, and NoodleU was born. We met about this idea on April 7 and launched our first virtual conference on May 16. We didn't know if it would work, how people would respond, or if we were just crazy (well, we are crazy). We're incredibly honored by the trust, feedback, and support from our profession. This support comes from friends and colleagues alike. Cheers to the NoodleU Class of 2020! The class of 2020 is a cumulation of all the attendees from all 4 of our conferences this year. Thank you to all of our incredible speakers (friends really), our support team, sponsors, and all of you that attended in 2020. Our profession is a bright place, and you have shown that to us this year. We laugh, cried, and made new friends. As for what's next? If we post negative content online, make hateful comments, or even allow others to do so, we’re condoning behavior that is making our world, our profession, a darker, more dangerous place. I’m not saying we all have to agree about everything. On the contrary, I think much of life’s richness and intrigue involves how diverse we can be, including our opinions. But the repercussions of spreading hate are far more dangerous than many of us may be willing to admit, or even have a true sense of. Great leaders in history have shown that incredible change is possible not by tearing people down, but by inspiring others. Well, let’s try this again 🤞🏽 I tried a few times since #COVID to unplug and failed miserably. #2020 am I right? I constantly found myself needing to send one more email, respond to one more text, or send one more #socialmedia message. The fear of missing out on opportunities that seem to come and go faster than before have kept me plugged in non-stop. There have been plenty of early mornings and late nights working on multiple #business ventures. I can give you all the excuses in the book. This is all to say, I failed at unplugging as often as I normally do this year. Frankly, a year where I should have made it more of a priority. And so, in an attempt to get back to this absolutely critical routine, I’m unplugging from now through November 30. A 2018 report from @nbcnews assessed 41 million individuals and found rising rates of depression across all age groups. I’m a wee bit late but want to say Thank You to @psi.vet and everyone who attended our virtual conference! I was able to safely spend the weekend in Colorado with amazing talent in the #veterinary space at the PSIvet virtual symposium. Covering all relevant topics from finance, HR, to marketing, end of life care, and leadership. All speakers presented on site and underwent daily health screenings. All of the attendees engaged in real-time from the comfort of their own home. Great job to PSIvet and their entire team for pivoting to providing this unique virtual educational experience! Big shout out to Jim Ladd, Kelly Fusco, and the entire PSIvet team!
